How can I change the information in my prophile?
We ask that you keep the information in your prophile up-to-date. You should especially ensure that your email address is kept current. You can alter any of the fields in your prophile except your username. In unusual circumstances, you may request that the webmaster change your username using this form, but please do so only for good reason.

Edit your prophile in the user control panel.

How do I add a custom status title or current mood to my prophile?
You can specify the text you want to display by editing your prophile in the user control panel. Simply enter the text you want in the Custom User Title field and click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page. Likewise, you can select a current mood icon by clicking "change mood" on your Edit Prophile page. When you change your mood, the change is reflected immediately without clicking the "Save Changes" button. You will be unable to change your mood if you disable AJAX or DHTML menus in your user options. If you create a title and select a mood, they will be displayed on your prophile page and under your username on all your posts.

What is the signature for?
After you have registered, you may set your signature. This is a block containing text and/or small graphics that you would like to be inserted at the bottom of all your posts.

You will have the option to include your signature on any posts you make. If you have specified a signature, then the board will automatically append your signature to any messages you post. You can disable signatures on a per-post basis by un-ticking the 'Show Signature' checkbox when you compose your message.

You may turn the signature on and off on posts you have already made by editing the post and altering the state of the 'Show Signature' option.

You can set your signature in the user control panel.

How do I get a picture under my username?
These small images are called avatars. They are displayed below your username on all posts that you make. There are two kinds of avatars: those provided by the webmaster and those that you upload yourself.

If the webmaster has provided a set of avatars, you may select an avatar that best describes your personality.

The webmaster has also enabled custom avatars, which allows you to upload an avatar image from your computer or from another web site. You can do that by clicking "Edit Avatar" in your user control panel. Avatars are limited to a file size of 20K.

For more information about avatars, click here.

I forgot my password! What can I do?
If you forget your password, you can click on the "Forgotten Your Password" link on any page that requires you to log in.

This will bring up a page where you can enter the email address you used when you registered. If it matches your account, an email will be sent to that address instantly with instructions for resetting your password.

The ability to reset your own password is one reason why you should always keep your email address up-to-date in your PhinisheD account.

What are the buddy and ignore lists?
The buddy list is used to keep track of the phriends you have made on this site. By going to your "Show Buddy List" in the "Members" menu of the navigation bar, you'll be able to see which of your phriends are currently online and send them a private message. Adding people to your buddy list also allows you to send private messages to multiple board members at the same time. You may add any member of the boards to your buddy list by viewing their prophile or by going to "Buddy/Ignore Lists" in your user control panel.

Ignore lists are used for those people whose messages you don't want to read. By adding someone to your ignore list, messages posted by that individual will not be viewable when you read a thread. You'll see that the person on your ignore list has posted, but you won't see the content of his/her posts. Instead, you'll get a one-line placeholder saying "[X] is on your ignore list. Click here if you want to see the post anyway."

Does this site use cookies?
The use of cookies on PhinisheD is optional, but can enhance your experience of the site. Cookies are used to track your current session, ensuring that you remain logged-on while browsing the site. They also enable functions such as automatically logging you back in when you return to the site after being away for a while. If you choose not to store this information in a cookie, the session data will be sent through each link you click. Choosing not to use a cookie may cause problems, particularly if your computer's connection to the Internet uses a proxy-server and you share links with other users behind the same proxy. If in doubt, we recommend that you select "yes" to enable the cookie.

When you register you will be given the option to "Automatically login when you return to the site". After registration, you can also click the "Remember Me" box in the form you use to login. Both of these actions will store your username and password in a cookie, saved on your computer. If you are using a shared computer, such as in a library, university, or internet cafe, or if you have reason not to trust any other users that might use this computer, make sure to logout to delete your cookies when you leave the site.

Cookies are not used to keep track of new messages posted between visits--that function is performed by the server database. As such, messaged posted since your last visit will be marked when you log in, even if you have disabled cookies or use a different computer or browser to access PhinisheD.
